This policy explains what information foxyeco.org (“FoxyEco”, “we”) handles when you read the site, follow a partner link or email us. FoxyEco has no user accounts, comment forms, newsletters or display advertising, so the amount of personal data involved is small.
Analytics
We measure readership with Umami, an open-source analytics tool that we host on our own infrastructure (the script loads from a.amfoxy.com). Umami does not use cookies and does not build advertising profiles. For each page view it records the page address, the referring site, browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and an approximate location (country, and sometimes region or city). Your IP address is used to derive that location and a rotating anonymous visit identifier; it is not stored in the analytics database. The data is used only to understand which articles are useful and to find broken pages. It is not sold or shared with advertisers.
Partner (affiliate) links
Some articles link to retailers or manufacturers through addresses on our domain that begin with /go/. When you click one, our server redirects you to the partner’s site. We record that the link was clicked, together with the same non-identifying details described above (page, approximate location, device type), so we can see which links work and remove broken ones.
A small number of partner links can point to more than one destination. In that case a short-lived functional cookie (lasting up to 24 hours) remembers which destination you were sent to, so you see the same one if you click again. It contains no personal information.
Once you arrive on a partner’s website, that company’s own privacy policy and cookie notice apply. Affiliate networks and retailers typically use cookies to attribute a purchase to the referring site. We do not receive your name, address or payment details from partners; at most we see aggregated commission reports.
Hosting, security and fonts
The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages and block malicious traffic. Our web servers keep standard technical logs (IP address, time, requested page, browser string) for security and troubleshooting; these are kept for a limited period and are not used for marketing. Page fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google’s servers.
If you email contact@foxyeco.org, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply, handle a correction or deal with a business enquiry, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
What we do not do
- We do not run advertising trackers, social media pixels or remarketing tags.
- We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your choices and rights
You can block the analytics script with a standard content blocker, and the site will keep working. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or state privacy laws in the US), you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to its use. Because our analytics do not identify individuals, in most cases the only personal data we could hold about you is email correspondence. To make a request, write to contact@foxyeco.org.
Changes to this policy
If the way the site handles data changes — for example if we add a new tool or service — we will update this page and the date at the top.
