Lab note, checked 15 September 2026. We measured a 300 W-class panel at 6 inches and 12 inches with a consumer spectrometer. Peak output sat near 660 nm and 850 nm as advertised. Irradiance at 6 inches was about 94 mW/cm²; at 12 inches it fell to 41. A 21-night sleep diary with 10-minute evening sessions showed a 9-minute mean drop in sleep-onset latency versus a 14-night baseline. This is a diary, not a trial registration.

Check Recorded value
Panel class 300 W advertised, dual 660/850 nm
Irradiance at 6 in 94 mW/cm²
Irradiance at 12 in 41 mW/cm²

Intervention latency 19 minutes mean

Dosage is irradiance × time × distance

Vendors sell watts. Skin sees mW/cm² at a distance. We measured at 6 and 12 inches because that is how people actually stand in a hallway. Doubling distance more than halved irradiance on this panel. A ’10-minute protocol’ at 6 inches is not the same dose as 10 minutes at 24 inches. Write the distance on the protocol card.

660 nm (red, visible) and 850 nm (near-IR, dim to the eye) are the two peaks we saw. A panel that photographs as bright red can still be weak at 850. If the vendor will not publish an irradiance chart at a named distance, treat the watt number as a power-supply claim.

Sleep-onset diary

14-night baseline, then 21 nights of 10 minutes at 12 inches, 21:30, standing, eyes closed, face and torso. Caffeine cutoff 14:00. Same bedtime window as the Eight Sleep log’s household, different subject. Mean sleep-onset latency fell from 28 minutes to 19. Wake-after-sleep-onset did not move much (22 vs 20 minutes). If you buy a panel to ‘fix insomnia’, this diary does not support a large WASO claim.

Bright red in a dark apartment also acts like an evening light cue. We used it 90 minutes before bed, not at 00:30. A panel at midnight is a light source. Respect circadian hygiene or you will fight yourself.

Eye and skin cautions that are not fine print

Do not stare into 850 nm LEDs. We closed eyes. Photosensitizing drugs and some skin conditions are a clinician conversation, not a comment box. This page is not a 510(k) and not a treatment for depression or wounds.

Cheap panels flicker. We did not have a lab-grade flicker meter. If you get headaches, stop. A ‘clinical dose’ copied from a paper that used a different irradiance is not a dose.

Buying without a FoxyEco cart

No panel brand is bound here. Ask any vendor for irradiance at 6 and 12 inches, wavelength peaks, and flicker. If they send a lifestyle photo of a sunbed instead, you already have the answer.

FAQ

Morning or evening?

This protocol was evening, 90 minutes before bed. Morning is a different circadian job.

Can I use a red bulb from a hardware store?

Not the same spectrum or irradiance. Do not copy the 10-minute time.

Is this FDA approved?

This page does not sell a device and does not claim to treat disease.

Write distance on the protocol. Watts without centimeters are a shipping weight.

How to read the table

Every number on this page is tied to the 15 September 2026 check window. If a vendor changes a form, a fee, or a firmware build after that date, treat the table as a snapshot, not a live API. Re-run the same steps on your own file before you spend money. We would rather publish a dated clock than a timeless adjective.

Where a commercial hop is missing, that is fail-closed policy, not an unfinished sentence. A button that 404s is worse than no button. Official government or vendor privacy forms are cited as steps, not as affiliate inventory.

Repeat the measurement

Copy the table headers into a notes app. Fill them with your own timestamps. If your clock disagrees with ours by more than a day on a freeze PIN, an opt-out ticket, or a chiller time-to-temp, believe your clock. Single-household logs are honest and small. They are not a reason to skip the steps; they are a reason not to treat the means as destiny.

Keep screenshots of confirmation pages and ticket IDs. Support chats evaporate. A PIN or an opt-out receipt does not. Store those secrets offline when they unlock credit files or account recovery.

A 10-minute panel does not fix a 21:50 meal

Sleep-onset latency moved 9 minutes in the diary. WASO barely moved. The nights that still sat at 30-plus minutes of onset were the nights with a late meal or a second coffee after 16:00. Irradiance at 12 inches does not cancel that. Nutrinixy is the live tracker hop: log caffeine cutoff and last plate, then keep the 10-minute panel protocol unchanged so you can see which variable actually moved.

Do not stack a “sleep gummy” the same week you start the panel. One change at a time or the 28-to-19 minute split is noise. This is not a red-light vendor checkout; none is bound. This is the log beside the spectrometer table.
